Studio Rules

updated 08/19/2022

At this time, KGNU is loosening its COVID-19 restrictions. In order to safely and effectively assure on-going operations and to minimize the risk of contagion, we will continue to keep foot traffic somewhat limited. In order to prevent a new closure it is imperative that all volunteers observe the following rules:

General Rules

  • As many staff continue to stagger their schedules, unless you are scheduled to be on air or are scheduled for an approved volunteer task/opportunity at a particular time, please check in with the staff member you plan to work/meet with prior to randomly stopping by station facilities. Masks are mandatory for unvaccinated individuals in the station hallways, community and transient spaces.
  • You must clean up properly after yourself and maintain strict hygiene standards, as outlined in our Show Transitions guidelines. Make sure to do your part. Leave no trace that you have used the place! https://kgnu.galaxydigital.com/kgnu-station-policies-covid-19/show-transitions-covid-19/

Studio Use

  • At this time, studios are open for use.
  • If you are unvaccinated, you must wear a mask when using the studio with other individuals.
  • All individuals should discuss masking on an individual basis with potential studio guests.
  • You may sign up for time in our recording studios in Boulder (Blue, Green, Gray) and Denver (Purple) through online scheduling. https://kgnu.galaxydigital.com/production-studio-online-booking/  (Please note: If the link is not working for you, you must sign up for a KGNU Galaxy Volunteer account at https://kgnu.galaxydigital.com/)
  • Please note: Despite increased capacity at the studio at this time, individuals may choose to maintain greater social distance regardless of their or your vaccination status. Please be respectful of our community and individual members who may ask to maintain a certain distance while in the building.

IF YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

  • You are not permitted to be at either the Boulder or Denver studios for at least 5 days.
  • 5 days after a positive COVID-19 test, you may be at the studios with a mask on at ALL times (even when alone in a studio).
  • 10 days after a positive COVID-19 test, you are permitted to be at the studios under normal rules. Masking is recommended.

We ask that scheduled programmers do NOT come to the station if:

  1. You have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 5 days.
  2. You are feeling sick at all: flu-like symptoms, cold symptoms, fever.
  3. You suspect or know that you have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 5 days.
  4. You don’t feel personally comfortable/safe at the station due to the current COVID-19 situation.

IMPORTANT:

If you have been diagnosed or show COVID-19 like symptoms and have been to either studio location in the previous 10 days since showing symptoms, we need you to report this to your Program Director. If you are scheduled for an upcoming show and won’t be able to make it for any reason listed above, please let the relevant KGNU Program Director know as soon as possible.

Please remember that these policies/rules are subject to change at any time. We will continue to keep you informed. The only way to ensure that we can keep the station open to volunteer programming is by working together to keep our spaces safe and sanitized.

Thank you.
